First day in Essex. Spent the day with Lauren and Richie [Faulkner, our guitar player] sorting out some new song ideas. Richie and Lauren had gotten together earlier in the week so, they showed me what they had written. I was very impressed. Very rockin indeed. Much more riff oriented. I called it "Stoner Rock" but Richie hated labeling it ....so we agreed not to put in a "box". Still very cool stuff whatever we call it.

Today we rehearse all day and then it's off to Oxford tomorrow for our first show with "The Answer"

Be back soon

Today I fly out of Miami International Airport to arrive tomorrow morning at London's Heathrow airport. We then begin the round of dates with Lauren which includes some shows with Irish band The Answer, Dubai, Belgrade, Athens and finally India. We are hoping to do a little more recording at Steve Harris' place after the India show. Just a couple additional things we need to do before we mix the rest of Lauren's record.

So, be ready for some photos ... some video... and reports from the road. Talk to you all soon.

This from Mr Lefsetz......

Intellectual property is priceless. Literally, not everybody can create it, and that which is good delivers revenue for as long as the law allows. It is the COPYRIGHT HOLDERS who are refusing to capitalize on new technologies. People are stealing the wares because the owners WON'T SELL THEM TO THEM! It would be like Dell saying you had to buy a computer over the Net or phone and get shitty service from India. As opposed to buying a Mac and being able to ask questions for FREE at a retail establishment. Hell, HP is kicking Dell's butt because people want to buy in a store, they don't want to wait. In other words, you've got to follow the ever changing market. The movie companies are trying to combat demand. Hell, if someone wants to download a 90 minute movie, CHARGE THEM! Don't say their desire is wrong. The gears are turning ever so slowly. Theft is rampant. But that doesn't mean the rights are worthless, anything but. They dropped the price of video and demand increased, i.e. the switch from VHS to DVD. Lower the price even further and MORE people will want the wares. As for music...music WROTE the paradigm. Toyota sells cars the people want. Detroit manufactures cars without orders and then tries to convince the public to buy them. SELL THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!

I can announce today that Lauren is playing in Bangalore India on the 17th of March. We had heard rumours of this being a possibility and I can say we are all really excited to play in India. This particular show has extra special significance because it will mark the first time a female fronted rock band has played in India. How fantastic is THAT!!! So, you can expect lots of fun photos from that adventure. Below is a post from the offical Maiden website.....

A spokesman from the promoters DNA Networks explained,"As this is our first show ever in India to feature three other acts in addition to an international headliner, it will be our first ever festival of sorts and as such an historic occasion. As the setting is the beautiful open site in the palace grounds , we thought the occasion should be marked with a special name so we are calling the event 'EDD-FEST'. We are confident that Maiden and 'EDD-FEST' will encourage more Western bands in the future to join us and play here in India, something that would greatly please the number of Rock fans in this country. The appearance of Britain's LAUREN HARRIS will also be the first time Indian fans will have seen a Rock band fronted by a girl.
